Nature and limits of our services

The CMO.lu SARL-S operates as a design and engineering office: consulting on smart-building architecture, technical design and production of reference documents (layout drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring schedules), KNX/ETS parameterisation and programming, software commissioning and functional testing of automation functions, multi-protocol integration (KNX, DALI, DMX, Modbus, IP), technical coordination between trades as technical assistant, training and support. The company may also supply the project's KNX hardware (modules, actuators, sensors, interfaces), subject to retention of title until payment in full.

The CMO.lu SARL-S holds no business permit for electrical trades. Its activity is strictly intellectual and software-based: no fitting, no wiring, no connection, no energisation and no physical intervention on distribution boards or electrical cabinets. Nor does it supply power electrical equipment (boards, circuit breakers, power cables, LV switchgear, luminaires), which belongs to the electrical package.

Should a project require electrical works, these are carried out exclusively by a third-party electrical contractor holding the required permits, with which the client contracts directly, under that contractor's own liability and insurance. Our General Terms and Conditions of Sale provide for two modes: in “Support” mode, the client appoints their own electrician, with whom we have no contractual relationship; in “Full offer under co-contracting” mode, we introduce a licensed co-contracting electrician, the client then signing two separate contracts, one with us for the automation package, one with the electrician for the electrical package. In both cases the electrical contractor remains solely responsible for its own package, its compliance and its insurance; The CMO.lu SARL-S acts in no capacity as contractor for such works.

Essential clause — please read carefully

No physical intervention on the electrical installation

The Provider carries out no physical intervention whatsoever on the electrical installation. Its activity is strictly intellectual and software-based.

Installation, fitting, connection, wiring, energisation, cable pulling and any other physical intervention on the Client's electrical installation are carried out exclusively by one or more licensed electricians, third parties to this contract (hereinafter “the Installer”).

Compliance of the electrical installation with the standards in force — in particular NF C 15-100, the applicable Luxembourg ILR/ILNAS regulations, the relevant IEC/EN standards and any other regulatory requirement — is the sole responsibility of the Installer. The Provider may not, under any circumstances or on any grounds, be held liable for any defect, loss, non-compliance or damage resulting from the physical execution of the electrical works by the Installer or by any third party.
